The Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Staffing Clerk.

What We Do
There has never been a more exciting time to be at WAHA. We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees, physicians, and partners in care. As a health authority, you will work in a unique setting where you have the opportunity to care for patients in all phases of their life journey, in all areas of their health experience. From Primary, Acute, and Mental Health, Dental, Specialty Clinics, Population Health and the WAHA Paramedic Service, the opportunities for growth are boundless. We provide community-based programming in all six of our communities, have six paramedic bases, three hospitals, four emergency departments, one community health centre and a total of 72 beds. Our guiding goal is to be a centre of excellence in Indigenous and remote healthcare. Who You Are
- Client-service orientated individual with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding working environment
- Good understanding of the PSAC and ONA collective agreements
- Understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Internet, email and computer-based reporting tools is required
What You’ll Do
- Schedules and replaces staff as required according to established staffing patterns
- Assures staffing is kept within contractual and budgetary guidelines. Obtain approval from appropriate director/or delegate for use of premium staffing
- Approves and updates changes in the schedule related to equivalent shift exchanges ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained
- Approves and updates changes in the schedule related to vacation/time off requests ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained
- Enters and updates other changes in the schedule as approved by Clinical Directors
- Contact staff to replace sick leave or other types of leave as necessary, according to budgetary guidelines and current collective agreements
What You Bring
- College Diploma (minimum 2 years) in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
- Minimum one-year previous staff scheduling experience in a unionized environment and or previous payroll experience
- Experience working in the health care setting
- Must be fluent in the local native Cree language
- Preference will be given to those candidates who are Cree from the Mushkegowuk Territory
- Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset

Salary: $59,572.50 - $65,032.50
